Cisco Aims To Make Cities Smarter



Our city could soon be smarter than ever.This is because Cisco and Smart Cities Council will consider what is needed to accelerate local governments to dig their smart city initiatives.Cisco and the Council of the Smart City published a report on the Internet of Things Global Forum this month,the views of the leaders of the city sink across North America in the drivers,challenges and provides measures adopted to make cities smarter.

In this context,Wim Elfrink,Cisco's executive vice president of Industry Solutions and Chief Globalisation Officer noted that we live in a digital age of internet everything that is transforming the way smart cities provide relief services,citizens provide experiences and Open Social,economic and environmental opportunities.Then he pointed the problem.

City leaders have shown in this study that you are looking for more guidance on how to promote these important initiatives,that is why the Council of intelligent cities together to jointly by the resources and best practices customers,business partners and industry leaders said.

What’s Holding Smart Cities Back?


Nearly a third of respondents identified the desire to improve infrastructure 'as a' key motivator "to begin deployments of smart city,followed by the improvement of cities worldwide appeal of their cities,according to the survey.Some early adopters already have initiatives underway smart city,including improved communications,energy efficiency and citizen participation projects,but most are still in the planning stage.

Forty-nine percent of the cities in the planning stages are taking steps to build their long-term visions; 37.6 percent is communicated to stakeholders of the city and 34.1 percent are creating prioritized action plans and next steps.Not surprisingly,funding is by far the biggest challenge for cities.Internal organization,including lack of coordination and alignment between departments is another obstacle.The report concluded that some cities may lack champions committed to take their efforts across departments.
